It just gets better and better at Coconut Bar and Kitchen

At Coconut’s Cocktail Bar and Kitchen, we are always creating new recipes, both in the bar and in the kitchen. Our marvellous mixologists have recently launched some new cocktails that are proving to be very popular with our discerning guests; not only do they taste amazing but they look fantastic with REAL EDIBLE FLOWERS and DRY ICE ‘SMOKE’ to give added drama to your night out!

Now it’s the turn of our creative kitchen team who are about to add Tempura Barramundi and Wok Fried Kale to our, already amazing, menu. We are so proud of our team upstairs who, every day, produce dish after dish of the Finest, Freshly cooked food that our lovely customers return again and again to enjoy.

Here’s a recent review from one of our fabulous guests:

 Great lunch.  Visited for the first time today with my wife for lunch and we were very impressed. The lunch menu has loads to choose from at very reasonable prices.
We had a Beef Bibimbap and a Prawn Katsu Curry and we both really enjoyed our choices. Served piping hot and well presented and we did not have to wait long. Very pleasant attentive staff and nice surroundings as well.
We will certainly be coming back and would highly recommend it if you are in Reading one lunchtime and want to try something a bit different without getting fleeced with an extortionate bill.

There’s really not much we can add to that! Thank you Brian for taking the time to mention us. We really do appreciate it and so glad you had such a great time with us.

And, on the subject of our brilliant kitchen staff, our EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH award for JUNE went to Rico Costa for all his hard work. Well done Rico, well deserved recognition. Keep up the great work!

Friends don’t let friends drink Prosecco alone….

When the sun is shining, sit outside on our terrace, either under the canopy for some gentle shade or in the glorious sunshine. If the weather is less appealing, come inside and sit in our bar area, with its tropical feel and chilled vibe.

Prosecco has been carefully chosen by the experts at Coconut Bar and Kitchen and is delicious. An extra dry fizz with stoned fruit and citrus flavours giving it an exquisite, refreshing taste. What’s more, come in for SUNDAY BRUNCH, and for just £25 you can enjoy 2 Asian tapas and bottomless Prosecco for TWO HOURS.  And, at just £5.50 per glass, when you dine from our lunchtime menu (excluding bank holidays), it’s just too good an offer to refuse.

Of course, many of our fabulous cocktails are mixed with this sparkling sensation. Classics like the Kir Royale and Bellini are both available in our happy hour at just £5.50, and our Pornstar Martini, with its own little shot of Prosecco, is not only available in happy hour at a special price but also has a night of its own every Thursday.

There’s a reason to celebrate, its National Cosmopolitan Day!

Yes it is! Tuesday May 7th is NATIONAL COSMOPOLITAN DAY, the perfect reason to raise your glass and toast one of the most iconic of cocktails and at our cocktail bar and restaurant you can get the BEST ONE IN TOWN!

 No-one can really be certain where the first Cosmopolitan originated from and there are many credible tales that claim its creation. One thing we can be certain of is that it’s rise in popularity in the 90`s was thanks to Carrie Bradshaw and her friends. Hardly an episode of Sex in the City aired without at least one clink of Cosmo filled martini glasses from the girls as they chin chinned their way through a lazy lunch or pre dinner drinks. They certainly inspired their viewing nations to try this forgotten treasure and bring it back to life and, still today, it features high on the cocktail list in any reputable establishment.

At Coconut Bar and Kitchen we pride ourselves on our FANTASTIC cocktail bar and mixologists. Our drinks menu contains a mixture of Classics and Coconut Originals. The choice is huge and each one created with love and care using high end spirits and mixers, fresh juices and amazing garnishes.

“In the jungle the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight…”

Well it may do tonight but it certainly won’t be on Saturday May 4th as it’ll be dancing away at our cocktail bar and restaurant to celebrate our 5th BIRTHDAY. Yes indeed, we have a really Special Treat for you, a Traditional CHINESE LION DANCE at 9.30PM to get you in the party mood.

As always on a Saturday our Happy Hour will run from 4:30-7pm, the menu will be as fabulous as ever, the cocktails as amazing as always and the DJ as brilliant as usual. The best party in town will be at Coconut Bar and Kitchen so come and celebrate with us, and, as an extra treat, we’re staying open for an extra hour until 3am.

Please don’t forget to reserve a table as soon as possible if you wish to eat as we do get booked up extremely quickly at weekends.

Have you tried our Late Night Chow-Down menu yet?

It’s the perfect solution to the munchies without resorting to kebabs and burgers. We wouldn’t want anyone to miss out so, for one night only, on Wednesday 17th April 10 pm – 12am, we are giving every customer a FREE DISH from the Coconut late night food menu when they buy an alcoholic drink from us.

We want to show all our guests at our cocktail bar and restaurant that our late night food is fresh, full of exquisite Asian flavours and cooked to order, because that’s just how we do things here at Coconut Bar and Kitchen. We never make compromises.

Whoop! Whoop! it’s Drink Wine Day…

If you need an excuse to start the week off with a glass or two then this is it! It would be a shame not to celebrate it when someone has gone to the trouble of declaring it, wouldn’t it.

Although a celebrated cocktail bar, our bar and restaurant also serves a fantastic selection of carefully chosen wines. What’s more, we can even recommend which wine suits the various dishes on our menu. If you’d prefer to wait until later in the week before celebrating Drink Wine Day, you may like to consider our Thursday deal, offering house wine for just £12.50.

It’s award season after all and a very fitting time to recognise the hard work, consistency and conscientiousness that our fabulous barman Kledis brings to Coconut Bar and Kitchen.

Our cocktail bar would not be the same without him, as many of our customers, particularly the ladies, would agree.  He is a great team member and friend to the rest of the staff here and thoroughly deserves this accolade.

“Very good place for dinner or cocktails!   Coconut is my favourite bar/restaurant in Reading.
It has the best cocktails and we had the opportunity to taste its food (I highly recommend the "Beef Gyudon", one of the best things I've ever tried!!) and it was amazing! We've been served for Anna and Youraj and they always looked after us in our requirements: thank you, guys!
