Gym? Oh, I thought you said gin.

And as it’s WORLD GIN DAY on Saturday 8th June that’s a very good reason to enjoy a glass or two. The gym can wait!

At our cocktail bar and kitchen we will certainly be acknowledging the occasion. With our range of fine gin brands, each served with their own specific garnish, you will be able to try a few and find your favourite combination. Maybe you prefer cocktails? We have a great selection featuring gin as the protagonist. Our Tokyo Tumbler stimulates the senses with a mixture of gin, plum wine and ginger beer amongst its ingredients whilst the ever popular gin based Sexyback tantalises the taste buds with flavours of peach, elderflower, apple and ginger ale. With so many cocktails to try it’s best to arrive early and don’t forget our HAPPY HOURS are 4:30pm – 7pm every Friday and Saturday and 4:30pm – 9pm Monday to Thursday when you can enjoy many of our cocktails at a reduced price. In addition to our happy hours and amazing cocktails, on a Friday and Saturday night our live DJ provides you with great music until the small hours. A ready-made party!

Visit Coconut Bar and Kitchen on a Tuesday and you can enjoy 2 glorious Gin and Tonics for just £10 or enjoy other offers throughout the week in our Weekly Deals.

Don’t forget that Sunday 16th June is Father’s Day. In honour of Dads everywhere we are offering 4 Coronas for £10, as a special treat, on our Sunday Brunch menu, just for Father’s Day.

Please don’t forget to book as soon as you can for Father’s Day, or any weekend evening if you wish to eat with us. We are very popular so do get very busy.

Thank you for reading and we hope to see you very soon!

Our Signature Korean Bibimbap Dish

Our Signature Korean Bibimbap Dish

Coconut Bar and Kitchen is a restaurant with a difference. Our style is pan-Asian, unique to Reading, and offers a variety of dishes from South East Asia, some of which you may not have seen before.

Take the stress out of worrying if you’ve had your 5 a day, a healthy portion of protein and a daily dose of carbs by tucking in to one of our signature Bibimbap dishes.  It really does have it all and comes with a tasty sauce. It’s delicious, healthy and filling. No wonder everyone is talking about it.

Coolest place in Reading.  Came in with friends had some lovely cocktails followed by some beautiful food. Bibimbap was sooo good . Paul came to talk us through the menu and delivered on the quality . Thank you coconut for making our night . Will return soon .x ‘

Thank you shifu123, so glad you had such a great time with us.

Bibimbap is a traditional Korean dish. It’s not really known where it originates from, some believe people may have started mixing foods together to eat with the gods. These were outside rituals so lots of separate plates were not practical. Traditionally it was eaten on the eve of the lunar new year when, back then, people felt they should use up all their leftover side dishes. It was a perfect solution to put them all in one bowl and mix it up with some rice.

Take a look at our main menu http://www.coconutbarkitchen.co.uk/#main-menu

There really is something for everyone. Whether you prefer spicy or mild, rice or noodles, beef or chicken, veggie or vegan, we have it all. If you’re feeling very brave you can even spice it up by adding Shanghai Hot chilli to your order. Include something from our cocktail bar in your visit and you’ll see why people love to visit our cocktail bar and restaurant, and why they return.

Many thanks for reading we look forward to seeing you soon.
